Who or What is MCMOD?

History

We have been located at the Southwest corner of Michigan, in a small trown of Coloma. The origin of MCMOD is Mark. He started with his passion of repairing and modifying his  motorcycles with the goal of putting a bike together that was a challenge to his riding skills. In his words a bike that would perform better than he could ride. He managed to collect quite a few pre 03 buells. He started selling HD/Buell parts on Ebay to provide some cash for his racing habit. Mark Coleman started McModified in late 2000 in a response to an ever-increasing number of friends who were consistently approaching him for maintenance, modification, and information or their machines. McModified gained local popularity and as our founder developed relationships with customers, part suppliers, machinists, and designers our name shortened to the now popular McMod. All profits from any transactions were used to maintain our supplies and promote for our drag racing efforts. We have been drag racing Buell's since 2003 and have several members on our team. All members of McModified ride but not just the Buell and Harley, you are likely to see a hodgepodge of machines in front of our shop on any given day including Victory, Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki. We at McMod don't care what you ride, but that you ride. The track is where we put our products through the testing required to put theory into practice. The track also allows us the privilege of cultivating friendships and exchange ideas with seasoned iniduals providing us with greater insight to develop better machines. It is also a great adrenalin rush. We have done our best to provide information from the results of our findings of these races as well as the theory behind the modifications we use.

Now

A few of the parts we offer can be found nowhere else as they were designed to provide alternatives, and we feel improvements over the conventional ideas. We provide several outlets for our parts. Our initial efforts went to the more cost effective Ebay store, where we have a selection of Harley-Davidson and Buell body parts as well as parts to modify the Buell engine and carburetor. This outlet however did not allow us the opportunity to relay the information we were starting to accumulate so we expanded to McMod.com. As the name of McMod grew in popularity we also acquired McMod.com, which is a redirect site to McModified. We noticed that many of our friends and customers wanted information on performance modifications and products. Some of these products we do not carry in stock so we would recommend dealers, shops or manufactures that we use. It is in response to that we have started this website.
Although the spark came from Mark this is not a one-person job. Many have assisted in our efforts and I would fill a page on their names and efforts they contributed some are web shy and wish to maintain their anonymity. Mark's chief help is his partner, Terry Coleman. Terry organizes and maintains the stores, records, researches ideas, assists in web development, provides a discerning eye, and is the glue of the company. Another associate is long time friend Steve Allain.  Steve repairs motorcycles, modifies and developes parts,  oversees  website development, contributes artwork (both graphic and CADD), article writing skills, codeing  (html, CSS, PhP, G-code for CNC, etc.), and assists in researching ideas. Another big assist comes from Mike who knows his way around eBay like the back of his hand, he also assists in motorcycle repair, shop inventory and extra muscle when needed.
